About the Event

Find out how to access new resources and engage with partners to work effectively in schools and support developing employability skills with young people. You will hear from The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Developing the Young Workforce, VHT Stirling, Angus Alive and Museums Galleries Scotland on working in partnership to deliver meaningful impact in schools. We will share case studies of the Workforce Of The Future project and show how to access resources and engage in a way that focusses on employability and workforce skills.

The Workforce of the Future Pilot project involves working in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), museums and schools in lower SIMD areas. Pupils work over a term to deliver an exhibition in a local museum, learn about the diversity of job roles in the sector and increase their employability skills. The ‘Workforce of the Future’ pilot project is funded through the Culture and Diversity Fund from Scottish Government.

The museums involved are Arbroath Signal Tower, Discovery Point in Dundee and The Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum. Each museum works with a school chosen in partnership with DYW and has created a different learning resource that can be used by schools and museums alike across Scotland.

You can find out more about the projects and their legacies using the learning and access page on the MGS website.
